Keeping the Creativity Alive

As every artist knows, there is an ebb and flow to creativity. Sometimes the words come easily and sometimes it’s like trying to climb a mountain blindfolded and hands tied: it is rough and even scary. The worst thing in the world to the part of us that desperately wants to create is a blank page or blank canvas. I know that feeling well—feeling like I’m staring into an abyss, with the abyss staring back. Are there more ideas? What if I’ve run out? Will the story flow, or bog down? Will I get stuck somewhere and be left starting over?

Except that it’s not really like that, not to the part of us that is effortlessly creative. Instead, it’s about what we might call into being, and to our minds, that’s terrifying. The key is to relax. How do I relax to recapture the effortless ease of being “in the zone”? Curious to know more?
